Man Steals Charity Collection Bag in Hemingbrough

Selby police are appealing for witnesses and information about the theft of charity bags from Hemingbrough near Selby
On Chestnut Avenue at around 7am on Monday 17 June 2013, a man was seen to load a charity bag into a plain white van. The bag had been left out for the British Heart Foundation by a resident who witnessed the bag being loaded into the van.
The resident did not think anything of it until the British Heart Foundation van came round to collect in the area later that day, at which point she notified the police.
Officers are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, they are appealing for information about the identity of the man and any other houses he may have collected from at that time in the morning. Anyone who saw the white van or bags being collected in the area is asked to contact the police.
The suspect is described as white, aged in his 20s, of slim build with short dark hair and was wearing a brown top.
