Local People included in the Queen's Birthday Honours List

Harry Gration, the Look North television presenter is one of the names included in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

He's been made an MBE - as has Mary Ratcliffe who's a visiting professor at York University and lives in Selby.

Brenda Mackfall from York's been honoured for her work as a nursing home entertainer and Susan Miles has also been given the British Empire Medal for her work for the community in Cawood.

OBE - Mrs Diane Clarke. Field director for the North of England, Conservative Party. For public and political service. (York, North Yorkshire)

OBE - Mrs Sharron Hughes. Head of Learning and Development Operations, Crown Prosecution Service. For services to Law and Order particularly in Learning and Development. (Selby, North Yorkshire)

MBE - Harry Gration. Radio and Television Broadcaster. For services to Broadcasting. (York, North Yorkshire)

MBE - Stephen Lamb. Police Inspector, Humberside Police. For services to Policing and charitable Fundraising. (Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire)

MBE - Professor Mary Ratcliffe. Visiting Professor, University of York. For services to Chemistry. (Selby, North Yorkshire)


Mrs Susan Jane Johnston. Formerly head of Campus Services, University of York. For services to Higher Education. (York, North Yorkshire)

Mrs Sarah Peel. Operational Support Grade, HM Prison Full Sutton. For services to the HM Prison Service and Prison Visitors. (Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire)
