York police are appealing for the public’s help following a report of a sexual touching incident in the city.

It occurred at around 1.45am on Thursday 13 June 2013, when a woman was walking along Heslington Road, towards the university.

The woman screamed when the suspect tried to lift her skirt up. He then ran off through St Lawrence’s primary school.

The offender is believed to have recorded the incident on his mobile phone.

He is described as a white man, approximately 30 years old, 5ft 9in tall, a chubby build, short thinning dark brown hair and a full dark brown beard. At the time he was wearing thin framed and slightly oval shaped glasses.

PC Amy Littlejohns, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Thankfully the victim was not physically injured. However, the incident has naturally left her very shaken and upset.

“If you have any information about this shocking and very distressing incident, I urge you to come forward and contact the police immediately.”

Anyone who can help with this enquiry should contact York police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Amy Littlejohns. Alternatively information can be emailed to amy.littlejohns@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 12130095873.
