Carers groups from around Yorkshire and the North East will find out how to get their issues on the political agenda, at a special event being held in York today (14th June 2012) as part of National Carers Week.

Stockton MP Alex Cunningham (Secretary of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Carers) and Harrogate & Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones (Vice Chair of the All Party Group on Stroke) will discuss how people with an interest in carers’ issues can work with Parliament.

The event at West Offices will be attended by around 80 people who are either carers or have an interest in carers’ issues. It has been organised by the Houses of Parliament Outreach Service, Young Carers Revolution and York Carers Centre and is part of National Carers Week (10 to 16 June).
