York Racecourse - June Meeting

York Races Proposal view from Melrose Stand

5:45am 14th June 2013

A maximum field of three year olds will charge down the Knavesmire straight in the traditional highlight of Charity Day this Saturday at York, the Macmillan Charity Sprint.

With £100,000 in prize money, it is one of the richest three year old handicaps in Europe and one of the most competitive.

The Tom Dascombe yard are always to be feared in races like this. They are represented by Baracuda Boy, to be ridden by Richard Kingscote and the pilot shares his thoughts about their chances and big York races in the clip below.

There's the usual strong challenge from Yorkshire bidding to keep the spirnt prize in the County. One of the market leaders is the in-form Moviesta, trained by Bryan Smart, the colt has won on the Knavesmire this year so listen to what his trainer thinks about a repeat performance on Saturday afternoon.
