£25,000 New Bridge Opened in Stokesley
2:26pm 11th June 2013
Stokesley’s brand new bridge was officially opened earlier this month.
Over 100 residents turned out for a champagne reception to see Lord Crathorne, KCVO officially cut the ribbon on the £25,000 development over the river Leven.
The River Leven ‘Jubilee Bridge’ provides full disabled access to the town centre as well as a safe route for pedestrians from the south west of the market town. It replaces the old iron footbridge which was closed in 2010 as it was declared dangerous.
Bilsdale Silver Band provided the entertainment and local residents provided the champagne and refreshments.
Lord Crathorne is pictured taking the first steps on the new bridge with District Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune
