Jogger Attacked by Gang in Selby

Police are appealing for witnesses after a jogger was pushed into Selby canal.

The victim, a 40-year-old local man, was out running at around 7pm on Wednesday 15 May 2013, when he stopped to rest by the pumping substation behind Sainsbury's.

While catching his breath, he was approached by two men and a woman, who began to verbally abuse him.

The victim turned to walk away and one of the men pushed him into the water.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquires is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for PC Neel Seth or Selby police.
