Cash For Hambleton Charities

The outgoing Chairman of Hambleton District Council has handed over £2610 to charity.
Hambleton District Council say that During her year in office, Councillor Fortune raised money for six charities: - Ministry of Defence Hospital Units (MDHU) in Northallerton and Catterick, RAF Linton and RAF Leeming Families Social and Welfare groups, Macmillan Cancer Support and the homeless charity SASH – each charity received £435.
“I was honoured to be the face of Hambleton and showcase the area and the wonderful people in the district,” she said.
“I was lucky enough to see the Olympic Torch and attend a Royal Garden party – it was an privilege and a pleasure to represent the Council at the events. And I was also pleased to be able to use my Chairman’s year to raise money for charities that have special significance to me and which benefit local people.”
