A man from Middleton on the Wolds is going to the regulator after hundreds of pounds was taken from his account by N-Power.
Ian Dewar had four payments taken by the energy firm which totalled more than 2-thousand pounds.
He said it left him and his wife struggling with their finances.
N-Power says it's apologised and is sorry they couldn't come to an agreement:
"We have sincerely apologised for the payment errors that occurred on Mr Dewar's account. The system error has been resolved and we have credited £132.48 to the customer's account, along with £112.47 to re-imburse Mr Dewar for his bank charges and £100 as a good will gesture. Mr Dewar still remains unhappy and we're sorry that a resolution could not be agreed. As he has reached the end of our complaints process, he has taken his query to the Ombudsman who we will liaise with."
Mr Dewar says, it's not about the compensation, but that he wants to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.
