There are claims it’s getting harder for NHS patients in York, Tadcaster and Easingwold to get IVF and gastric band treatment.

At a meeting today York Central's MP will raise his concerns about how limits on budgets will affect NHS Vale of York.

Hugh Bayley says the problems are only set to get worse.

NHS Vale of York says it's policy on IVF will be reviewed over the coming year.

Dr Mark Hayes, Chief Clinical Officer of the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group said: "The CCG does not currently routinely commission assisted conception services, including IVF treatment.

“We considered this at our governing body meeting on 4 April and we will be reviewing this policy in the coming year."
