Resurfacing Works on Mill Lane - Acaster Malbis
8:55am 22nd April 2013
City of York Council will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on Mill Lane, Acaster Malbis throughout the week of 22 April.
The work will start today, Monday 22 April and will last up to a week, with work taking place between the hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, say the council.
They add that in order to carry out these works safely a temporary road closure of Mill Lane will be necessary whilst works are taking place.
The council are asking people to be advised there will be no access or exit for vehicles during the times listed above except in emergencies. They add that there will be no on-street parking during these times.
City of York Council say that if you do require vehicular access for yours and others safety, you must first inform the traffic management operatives on site and follow any instructions issued. They add that vehicular access will only be allowed if it is safe to do so, but pedestrian access will be available at all times.
Outside the proposed working hours the road will remain open as usual with no restrictions imposed, say the council.
As with any construction work, there is likely to be a certain amount of disruption and inconvenience, say the council, however they say everything reasonably possible will be done to keep this to a minimum. Motorists should expect some delays and plan their journey accordingly.
The Contractor carrying out the work will be City of York Council, Communities and Neighbourhoods who will be responsible for public safety.
