Thousands Eligible For Funding to Beat Fuel Rises in Ryedale
7:39am 12th April 2013
People in Ryedale who are struggling to meet the demands of rising fuel rates could be eligible for a free boiler upgrade, aiding savings of up to £310 a year on heating bills. The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) initiative is a government programme designed to reduce energy consumption in Britain by providing energy improvements in the home.
Under the new scheme people living in Ryedale who meet the following criteria could be eligible to replace their old, inefficient boilers with a new A-rated model for free, say Carillion Energy Services.
The scheme is open to residents who:
- live in privately owned or rented accommodation
- have a gas boiler that is faulty or old/inefficient
- have a wall-mounted gas boiler
- are on certain income related benefits
Those that qualify for the scheme will receive a free A-grade boiler, say Carillion Energy Services. They add that the ECO programme also provides a one year parts and labour guarantee on top of the manufactures warranty
Carillion Energy Services say they will be writing directly to eligible people this week with more details of the offer and a full list of eligibility criteria.
Dave Robinson from Carillion Energy Services said: “The ECO initiative recognises that people may struggle with rising fuel rates and offers the opportunity to reduce heating bills as well as protect the environment. We are urging people who may qualify for the initiative to get in touch to receive the help they are entitled to”.
If you do not receive a letter and think you may qualify for ECO funding, or would simply like further information contact Carillion Energy Services free on 0800 408 7651, or visit www.carillionenergy.com. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8:00 – 18:00 and Saturday 9:00 – 17:00.
