Preparations Continue for York Lord Mayor's Golf Tournament
5:45pm 11th April 2013
The Lord Mayor of York, Cllr Keith Hyman and the Sheriff of York, Cllr Paul Firth are today visiting the Mercedes Benz dealership on Clifton Moor to thank them for their support and sponsorship of the forthcoming Lord Mayor’s Charity Golf Day.
This annual charity event will take place at Pike Hills Golf Club on Friday 26 April, with the permission of the Club Captain, Chairman, and Committee members.
In its 6th year, the competition sees golfers from across the city and across Yorkshire join together to play for the Lord Mayor’s Cup.
The Lord Mayor, who is playing in the competition said: “I am delighted to be able to take part in the Annual Lord Mayor’s Golf Competition, as Lord Mayor, although I don’t think I will be presenting myself with the cup!
“Once again we have been overwhelmed by the support of local businesses that have sponsored holes on the course. Mercedes Benz has also agreed to sponsor the event and will have a presence at Pike Hill Golf Club on the day.”
All funds raised through the competition will go to the Lord Mayor and Sheriff’s chosen charities, SSAFA Forces Help and Special Olympics City of York.
There are still a few tee-off times available for those wishing to take part. Entry for a team of 4 golfers is £80.00 per team, and includes the round of golf and a coffee and bacon sandwich before teeing off.
To take part, please contact the civic office on (01904) 551011 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
