York Office Staff Sky Dive For Charity
6:01am 13th April 2013
Fourteen brave staff from the TechData Central Supply Chain (CSC) office on Clifton Moor in York are doing a sponsored skydive. By doing the skydive in Bridlington, they aim to raise as much money as they can for their nominated charity: York Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).
Staff at Techdata CSC say they are committed to making a difference to SCBU and the premature babies and their families that the unit and its staff care for.
Gemma Boddy, Customer Services Advisor said, “We are all very apprehensive about the jump and for many members of the Skydive team we will have to overcome fears in order to do it – it’s the first time for us all. It is absolutely worth it though as it’s a really important and very deserving charity to support. The more money that we raise, the bigger difference we will make. At TechData CSC, we believe we can make that difference! Thank you.”
Every year the TechData CSC office raises money for charity and this year they say their target is to raise over £9,000. To date they have raised almost £4,000 through their fundraising for the skydive by asking friends, family and colleagues to support them, as well as holding events in their office such as bake sales and book sales.
Ann Elliott, Sister of SCBU said, “On behalf of all the staff and the families that come to SCBU I would like to say a very big thank you to Tech Data CSC for fundraising for us. Their support is very much appreciated and the money will be put to a very good use. I hope the sun shines for their skydive.”
