Police Hunt Man After Teenage Girls See Indecent Act in Selby Playground

Selby police are appealing for information after a man performed a lewd act in a Selby play park.

At around 6.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday 3 April 2013, three girls in their mid-teens were in the park on Park Street, Selby.

They noticed a man stood nearby watching them who had loosened his clothing and then began to perform a lewd act.

The girls left the park and walked to the bus station nearby. The man followed them and waited in the same bus queue.

One of the girls then caught the Arriva bus service which goes to York and waved goodbye to her friends. The man also caught the same bus and struck up a conversation with the girl asking her various questions, the conversation remained polite. The girl got off the bus in Selby and the man remained on board.

The suspect is described as very tanned or dark-skinned, aged around 30, around 5ft 5in to 5ft 7in. He was wearing jeans and a blue hooded top.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw a man matching his description either in the park or in the bus station to contact them. Also, anyone who caught the Arriva Selby to York bus at around 7.20pm on Wednesday evening is urged to contact the police.
