CCTV cameras are set to stay in Pickering until "at least June" according to Ryedale Cameras in Action.

It comes as the business community in Pickering continue to fundraise for CCTV coverage in Pickering to cover the shortfall following Pickering Town Council’s decision to withdraw their funding.

Martin Dales, Chairman of Ryedale Cameras in Action, said, “It is clear that the cameras are a valued resource for the people and businesses of Pickering and help them feel safe. Given these ongoing fund-raising efforts, coverage will continue in Pickering until at least the end of June.”

“We are grateful to Linda Cowling for her continued efforts in raising funds in Pickering and if people would like to contribute, they should make contact with Linda.”

The annual servicing of the system is currently being carried out and started in Pickering where one camera has been taken down for repair.
