Acomb Traders Host Family Fun Day

Easter eggs

Acomb Alive, the traders association for Acomb will be putting on a Family Fun Day for Saturday 30th March (Easter Saturday) to help boost the local area’s shopping centre.

There will be juggling, circus tricks, facepainting, a colouring competition, between 11am and 3pm when the winner of the colouring competition will be announced with prizes of Easter Eggs being donated by Green Lane Carpets and Tea on the Green.

Café 71 is also hosting a Crafternoon for children.

Treasure Hunt Launch

Residents of all ages will be able to enter a treasure hunt competition to spot numbered Easter Eggs pictured in the windows of many of Acomb’s shops. These can be picked up on the day or else the competition will be running until 13th April during the school Easter break.

There are lots of prizes;

Wash and Cut – Ali Barbers, Manicure Set – Christine’s Hair and Beauty, Meal for 2 – Café 71, Banagrams Game – Kip McGrath, Gift Voucher – Floral Elegance, Cut and Finish – Status Hair Designs.

Sue Hunter Chair of Acomb Alive! said “These events show that Acomb Alive! is growing with more and more shops becoming involved in promoting the area, and reminding residents how many things that they can buy on their doorstep. I would like to thank the retailers for their support in putting up the eggs, and especially for those who have provided the prizes.”
