Search for Acomb's Cabbie of the Year
12:25pm 26th March 2013
Cabbies across Acomb could be acknowledged for the wonderful work they do as Swinton Taxi Division launches it search to find this year’s ‘Cabbie of the Year.’
Those taxi drivers who really do have a heart of gold are being encouraged to enter the competition to win the coveted title of ‘Cabbie of the Year 2013’, receive a cheque for a whopping £1,000 and drive away with a year’s free taxi insurance – a prize worth thousands of pounds.
Swinton Taxi Division is also giving something back to hard working cabbies, even offering prizes of £500 for second place and £250 for third place.
Last year, kind-hearted, Hartlepool cabbie John Osborne was handed the title after judges were impressed with his dedication to his local community.
Rules for entry are simple – in no more than 150 words describe why you (the cabbie) or your local taxi driver is worthy of receiving the lucrative title of ‘Cabbie of the Year 2013’ and Swinton’s expert judging panel will decide on a winner.
The competition is open for entry now and closes on 30th April 2013. Presentation ceremonies for the lucky winners will be held at the UK’s largest private hire and taxi trade exhibition, Private Hire & Taxi Monthly in May 2013 at Manchester Central.
Steve Roberts of Swinton Taxi Division said, “We want to reward hardworking cabbies who continually go the extra mile for their customers. Perhaps they have raised lots of money for charity, or help out in their community or maybe they have tackled issued with the taxi industry. Whatever it is we want to hear from them and recognise their achievements in our search for ‘Cabbie of the Year 2013.’”
