York Explore's Giant Book Sale

Library

6:00am 22nd March 2013

City of York Council’s York Explore Library Learning Centre will be hosting a giant book sale this weekend to make room for a new selection of books. The council say that residents are invited to come along and pick up a bargain they won't be able to put down!

Cllr Sonja Crisp, Cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: “To make room for the constant stream of new books coming in to York’s Explore centres and libraries over 3,000 books, DVDs and CDs will be available to buy from Friday 22 to Monday 25 March. Residents will be able to come along and choose something to buy and keep from the wide selection of children’s books, paperbacks and CDs from 50p and DVDs from as little as £1.”

The book sale will take place in the main York Explore library learning centre on Library Square. New books will be added to the sale throughout each day so there will always be a bargain to be had, say the council! York City Council say that the money raised from the sale will be reinvested into the running of the library service.

Sale opening times:

Friday 22 March: 9am – 6pm

Saturday 23 March: 9am – 5pm

Sunday 24 March: 11am – 4pm

Monday 25 March: 9am – 5pm
