York Man Sentenced in Hamster Frying Case

A man from York's pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a hamster.
James White of Popes Head Court told magistrates in Selby the hamster was dead before he put it into a hot frying pan.
But he pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to an adult female Syrian hamster.
The 21 year old has to do 120 hours unpaid work, pay a thousand pounds in costs and is banned from keeping animals for eight years.
