Meeting to Discuss One Council for North Yorkshire
3:50pm 22nd February 2013
The idea of one council for the whole of North Yorkshire is up for discussion again.
The leader of Scarborough Council says it will be talked about at a meeting next month.
If it were to happen councils including Ryedale, Selby, Harrogate and Hambleton would be abolished.
Linda Cowling heads up Ryedale Council and says she's against the idea.
North Yorkshire Council says it's not aware of any plans for a single council.
Plans for a unitary authority in North Yorkshire were previously turned down in 2007.
