Man from Thirsk Dies After A19 Collision

Police officers are making a fresh appeal for witnesses following the death of a man injured in a road traffic collision on the A19.

The 35-year-old man from Thirsk, received serious head injuries as a result of the collision which occurred near to the junction for Over Silton, near Northallerton at 1.20am on Tuesday 19 February 2013.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead later the same day.

We are not yet in a position to release his identity.

Traffic Sergeant Richard Parsons, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said: “I am asking for anyone who was on this stretch of the A19 around the time of the collision to come forward and contact the police if they have not already done so.”
