Council Tax Set to be Frozen in Thirsk and Easingwold

Hambleton District Council

7:56am 19th February 2013

People living in Thirsk and Easingwold won't see an increase in council tax, but leisure centre charges are going up.

That's if Hambleton Council's budget gets passed at a meeting this afternoon.

The council has saved more than two million pounds over the last few years by not replacing staff who leave.

It's now hoping some firms will move into their empty office space to help bring in more money.
