People in Norton Urged to Claim Free Boiler
1:11pm 15th February 2013
Ryedale District Council is working with Yorkshire Energy Partnership to offer local residents the chance to claim a free energy-efficient boiler, as part of the new ‘Better Boilers’ scheme.
The offer is open to any residents living in the Norton East Ward who own their own home or privately rent from a landlord, with a boiler which is D-rated or below and who can answer YES to the either of the following questions:
- Are you (or is anyone else you live with) over 60 years old?
- Are you claiming income-related benefits?
Cllr Linda Cowling, Leader of Ryedale District Council, is encouraging people to take up this offer whilst funds last:
“Installing an efficient boiler is the single biggest way for people to save energy and money in their homes – it will heat your house more efficiently and save you up to £300 per year on your gas bills. This offer is only available whilst funding lasts, so we’re urging people who live in the Norton East Ward to call Yorkshire Energy Partnership on 01904 545 020 to claim a better boiler right now.”
From April, the scheme will open to all Ryedale residents who have a boiler which is D-rated (or below) and claim benefits, so anyone who feels that they fall into this category should also call Yorkshire Energy Partnership on 01904 545 020, quoting ‘Better Boilers’.
