Archbishop Give Books to York Primary Schools
9:52am 11th February 2013
The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu has given 175 copies of Love Life Live Lent (Kid’s version) to local primary school pupils who will be completing his Youth Trust’s Young Leaders Award in the spring and summer terms of 2013.
The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, said: “The Love Life Live Lent books are a great source of encouragement for us to be the change we want to see in our communities. Young people are amazing and I want to encourage them to aspire for wholeness, both in Lent and beyond! I am delighted to give these books to the first group of local primary schools to take up the Young Leaders Award. We may feel our own contribution is small, but it is small drops of water which turn a waterwheel”.
Love Life Live Lent - Be the Change!, written by theologian Dr Paula Gooder and her husband the Revd Peter Babington, leads people through simple daily activities to make small but revolutionary changes to the world around them during Lent 2013, says the Archbishop.
Robin Rolls, Director of the Archbishop of York Youth Trust said: “The Young Leaders Award is about the service of others, be it within school, within local communities and it is all about making a difference in people’s lives. It’s fantastic that four local primary schools will be running the Key Stage 2 Award for the first time this year. They’ll be doing lots of challenging projects and learning much more about the world around them”.
