Plans to Reform Foster Care in York

York city council

Foster carers in York will be paid a fee depending on how much experience they have and will be given accredited training under new plans by the council.

The proposals will cost City of York Council almost fifty-six thousand pounds over the next year.

While some foster carers will get more money, some will lose out.

Howard Lovelady from the council says that the current fees carers get will be protected:

 
He adds that for every new foster carer that signs up in York, it will mean they don't have to pay for an independent Fostering Agency:
