Energy Saving Roadshow in Easingwold

6:02am 2nd February 2013

Householders in the Easingwold area can check out renewable heating systems at a roadshow today.

They can also talk to suppliers at the event at Alne Village Hall - which is being held as part of a scheme by Yorkshire energy Partnership to lower heating bills.

The event – from 10 am to 3pm – is being organised by Yorkshire Energy Partnership and Lower Swale Syndicate of Heating Oil Co-ops.

The initiative offers grants of up to £1200, say the partnership to help save money and energy by fitting wood boilers, heat pumps or solar hot water heating - especially important for villages where homes have no access to mains gas so rely on expensive oil, LPG, electricity or solid fuel to heat their homes.

Villages in the project area include Aldwark, Allerston, Alne, Asenby, Bagby, Baldersby, Brafferton, Coxwold, Crayke, Cundall, Easingwold, Ellenthorpe, Flawith, Flaxby, Goldsborough, Helperby, Huby, Humberton, Husthwaite, Linton on Ouse, Milby, Myton on Swale, Newton on Ouse, Norton Le Clay, Oulston, Pilmoor, Raskelf, Scotton, Scrayingham, Sessay, Stillington, Sutton on the Forest, Sutton under Whitestonecliffe, Thirkleby, Tholthorpe, Tollerton and Youlton.
