York 800 Legacy

York 800

6:01am 2nd January 2013

As York enters it's 801st year in 2013 - we're being reassured the legacy of York 800 will go on.

The 800th birthday of the city led to a number of events to mark the occasion.

We asked Councillor Sonya Crisp who's the cabinet Member for Leisure, tourism, culture and social inclusion, what's next.

Councillor Crisp tells Minster FM the chocolate, cycling and whisky festivals are all due to become annual events after making their debut last year.

She says it has really brought the city together as a community.
