North Yorkshire Roads Slippery This Morning

Police Diversion Sign

7:27am 14th December 2012
(Updated 7:28am 14th December 2012)

Police are urging motorists to take care while out on the roads around the region this morning.

Snow showers falling on already frozen road surfaces are making driving conditions treacherous across North Yorkshire.

There have been 15 accidents so far on the A1 and a section of the A1M Southbound near Boston Spa is closed.

Sutton Bank is also closed due to a jack-knifed lorry and is affecting traffic around Thirsk and Pickering.

There's been an accident on the A19 near Selby already this morning where a car skidded on ice just before 5am and crashed into a fence although that has now been cleared.

We'll keep you up to date on the regions roads in the travel.
