Whixley Village Shop Break-In

Police are appealing for information following a break-in at Whixley village shop.


Officers say that in the early hours of Monday 10 December 2012, at around 1am, the shop, which is situated at The Cobbles in Whixley, was entered by burglars who caused damage to the interior of the shop and stole a small amount of cash and some cigarettes.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area or witnessed the break-in to contact them.

PC Neil Roworth of Boroughbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This is a small business which provides a vital service to the local community and I am appealing to anyone who can help identify the offenders to get in touch."

Police say that anyone who saw or heard anything in the early hours of Monday morning is urged to contact Boroughbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, please call 101, select option 2 and ask for Neil Roworth.
