Decision on Switching Off Street Lights in Easingwold and Thirsk Delayed
3:21pm 11th December 2012
A decision on plans to switch off street lights in Easingwold and Thirsk in the early hours has been delayed until the New Year..
Hambleton Council is looking at joining with North Yorkshire Council to turn off lights from around midnight until dawn.
It would save the district council more than £24,000 pounds a year.
But councillors put off making a decision today saying they wanted more information about how the scheme would work.
Diane Gallon's the chair of Easingwold Town Council and she says she can understand the arguments in favour.
