Police Dog Bites Teenager in York Arrest

A 17-year-old teenager is due at York Magistrates’ Court today after being stopped by a police dog near a burglary in York.

Neighbours called North Yorkshire Police at around 3.40am in the early hours of Sunday 2 December 2012 after seeing two men enter a house on Coniston Drive, York.

Police were called and Police Dog Ozzy quickly found one of the suspects on a nearby cycle track where he bit and held on to the suspect.

The young man was arrested and treated for a minor injury before being taken into police custody and interviewed about the incident.

He was then charged with burglary on Sunday afternoon and is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The second suspect escaped on a bike and police are still to trying to find him.
