A York headteacher is leading a campaign against planned changes to the exams system.

Education Secretary Michael Gove wants a new English Baccalaureate Certificate to replace GCSEs.

The new qualification would be awarded by one exam board - in the hopes of avoiding a repeat of this summer's GCSE marking crisis.

But Huntington School's head John Tomsett says GCSEs could be reformed instead.

John Tomsett is part of the Headteachers Roundtable which is a group of Heads from around the country that are opposed to the proposed changes. You can find out more about the Headteachers Roundtable here: http://headteachersroundtable.wordpress.com/
