McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet and The Ice Factor are thrilled to announce that Yorkshire Olympians, Ed Clancy, Luke Campbell and Lizzie Armitstead, will be launching the third Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland at McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet, on Friday 23 November 2012.

Olympic Gold Medallist Boxing Champion Luke Campbell from Hull, Double Olympic Champion Ed Clancy from Barnsley and Team GB’s first medallist of London 2012 Lizzie Armitstead from Otley made a name for their county, not to mention their country, this summer at the London 2012 Games.

McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet and The Ice Factor tell Minster FM that the evening will begin at 6:30pm as the Yorkshire Olympic medallists take centre stage on the ice to turn on the 30ft Christmas tree lights, at the centre of the North of England’s largest ice rink. Adding that, visitors will be treated to exclusive performances from The Imperial Ice Stars - the internationally acclaimed Russian ice skating troupe. Fans of the Olympic athletes will also have the opportunity to meet them in the VIP area of the Ice Factor café from 7.15-8.15pm, according to McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet and The Ice Factor.

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland is open from Saturday 24 November 2012 until Sunday 6 January 2013, and will host The Ice Factor, a Santa’s Grotto and Christmas shopping for all the family to enjoy. In addition there will also be an authentic fun fair offering a variety of traditional fair rides, such as a Carousel, a 1930s Speedway, a helter skelter and many other rides and games for everyone to enjoy.

Mike Thomas, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet, says: “It has been a great year for Britain and we are particularly proud of our Yorkshire athletes. We wanted to keep the spirit going by inviting Yorkshire-born Olympians Luke Campbell, Ed Clancy and Lizzie Armitstead to open our spectacular Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland at McArthurGlen’s York – the ultimate destination for Christmas shopping and a festive family day out.”

James Cundall, Chief Executive at Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, organisers of The Ice Factor said: “Last year, Torvill and Dean drew in huge crowds for the launch of Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland. However, this year we expect to surpass that by having Yorkshire’s very own Olympians as well as performers from the world-renowned ice skating troupe, The Imperial Ice Stars in attendance for the opening of the Ice Factor’s third season at the centre.”

Adding that along with all that Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland has to offer for a fun day out this festive season, McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet is the perfect place to find all your Christmas gifts and party wear, with savings of up to 60 per cent less at over 120 leading fashion and designer brands, including The Kooples, Reiss, Kurt Geiger, LK Bennett and Armani Collections.

McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet and The Ice Factor say the outlet will be open for shoppers until 8pm on Friday 23rd November and The Ice Factor will be open from Saturday 24 November, 9:30am until 9:15pm daily (except Christmas Day). Tickets for a one-hour session range from £8.75 for children and concessions to £9.75 for adults. Discounts apply for groups of 20 or more and special party packages are available.
