Hanna Palmer and Sonia Ridsdel from York are organising a 24 hour football match to raise money for Children In Need. They still have places available to fill from 4pm tomorrow until midnight, and are asking anyone who is interested to get in touch with them. To sign up email

The pair plan to get 500 people involved to break an existing world record and raise £3000 for the charity.

Hanna says the challenge will start at midday on the 24th November and finishes at midday on the 25th. It takes place at Play Football at Roko Gym, Clifton Moor.

She adds that when you sign up you will be given a 1 hour time slot and you will play for at least 30 minutes of that hour. Hanna says everyone is welcome to play regardless of age or ability adding that they have set aside 5-6pm on the Saturday for any girls who would rather not show up the guys, and 9-10am on Sunday is just for kids, aged over 7.

Hanna and Sonia are asking for a £10 donation to Children In Need (£5 for kids) when you sign up, adding that you can visit the just giving website to pay: Hanna asks that you send her confirmation that you've paid and she will give you a time slot.

Hanna says "We're really keen to get as many people as possible involved. If you already have a 5-a-side team you can sign up and play together or iIf you have friends or family who may be interested, please let them know. It's for a great cause and should be a good laugh".

"We would like to try breaking the world record for most players in a 24 hour 5-a-side match, we are aiming to get 500 players!"
