More cash for eco-housing in York
4:41pm 1st December 2009
The Housing Minister John Healey will confirm the Government’s support for York's eco-housing proposal this afternoon.
He's set to announce funding for urban eco-housing settlements will be doubled from the five million approved in July, to ten million.
It's good news for York MP, Hugh Bayley, who argued for two years that eco-town money should be diverted to fund eco-housing developments within existing urban areas.
It means projects, like at York's former sugar factory site, will be able to get underway more smoothly.
