2 cyclists crash in Malton

Malton police are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision near the town.
It occurred at 11.55am on Wednesday 4 July 2012, on the Malton to Castle Howard Road approximately half a mile from Malton.
It involved two pedal cycles, which were part of a group of four cyclists heading towards Malton.
As a result of the collision two women from Harrogate were seriously injured.
One was taken to James Cook University Hospital by air ambulance with a serious head injury and the second was taken by road ambulance to York District Hospital who sustained broken bones.
Traffic Constable Paul Moon, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said:
“I am, appealing to anyone who either witnessed the collision or may have seen the group of bikes prior to the incident to contact the police as soon as possible.”
