Three Peaks Challenge 2

12:01am 19th May 2012

25 walkers from Newton on Ouse are taking on the Three Peaks of Yorkshire challenge.

Today (Saturday May 19th 2012) the group will be leaving Horton in Ribblesdale at 7.30am.

They'll climb Pen y ghent followed by Whernside and Ingleborough before returning to Horton in Ribblesdale within 12 hours.

The trek is 26 miles of what the group have described "foot mashing torture."

Organiser Chris Mason's told Minster FM on completion of the chellenge they'll be retreating to the pub to nurse their wounds and have a well earned drink.

Two of the group, Chris and his son Tom, are taking on the Mongolia Rally in July.
