The trial of a North Yorkshire arms dealer collapses
5:33pm 19th January 2012
The trial of an arms dealer from near York, who was charged with helping organise the shipment of guns and ammunition without the necessary licence, has collapsed.
42 year old Gary Hyde, from Newton on Derwent, denied two charges of breaching trading laws and one of concealing criminal property.
But the Judge discharged the jury today saying "I have come to the conclusion that this case has to fail in law, on the particular facts of this case."
If there is no appeal, Hyde will be acquitted of the charges.
