Scooter rider seriously injured in collision near Malton

Police in Malton are appealing for witnesses following a serious single vehicle road traffic collision.
It occurred at 12.45pm on Sunday 8th January 2012, at Scampston Bridge, West Knapton, Malton and involved a Piaggio scooter.
As a result of the collision, the 46-year-old man from Leeds, who was the only person on the scooter, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by air ambulance with serous injuries, where he currently remains in a critical but stable condition.
TC Ian Barrett, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said:
"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen the scooter prior to the incident. I ask that they come forward as soon as possible."
