Gritter stolen in York

Someone's stolen a gritter in York.
It was taken last night by a cheeky thief who drove in to Vale Engineering in Rufforth and towed the vehicle out.
The gritter, which is valued at £9,500, is yellow and has the word "Spreader" on the back.

Police in York are asking for the public's help to locate a Toyota Hilux following the theft of a gritter.
The Vale TS1200 was stolen just before 11.15pm on Wednesday 8 December 2011, from Vale Engineering, Wetherby Road, Rufforth. The gritter, which is valued at £9,500 is yellow and has the word "Spreader" near the rear.
The blue Toyota Hilux was caught on CCTV as it pulled into the yard and drove away towing the gritter.
PC Damion Liversidge, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:
"I am asking anyone who may have seen the gritter being towed away following the theft or knows where it is now to contact the police, or Crimestoppers if they would prefer to pass information on anonymously, as soon as possible.
"I would also like to speak to anyone who can help to identify the thieves."
