Fatality at Northallerton Train Station

A person's died after being struck by a train at Northallerton station.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said:

"BTP were called to Northallerton station on Thursday, 10 November following the report of a person being struck by a train.

"BTP and North Yorkshire Police officers attended the incident which was reported to police at 2.20pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.

"Paramedics also attended but the person was declared dead at the scene.

"Officers are currently working to establish the identity of the person and inform next of kin

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."

The train involved was the 12pm Edinburgh to Kings Cross service.
