"Their route through the city on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 June 2012 will be bound to take in the magnificent settings of the city from the city walls, the rivers, the Minster and the Shambles leading to a fantastic early evening event at the race course.
"It is also fantastic news that the NRM have offered to carry the Olympic Flame from the city on the Flying Scotsman for its journey north.”
