Have your say on how local cash is spent
12:01am 4th November 2011
City of York Council is reminding residents that today is your last day to have your say on how local areas could be improved.
People have until the end of Friday 4th November to give their views on how local ward money could be spent.
Details of possible schemes are available on the council’s website at www.york.gov.uk/council/Wards/ or by calling (01904) 551832.
Suggestions include installing more play equipment, allocating money to clean up alleyways, extending a footpath, planting flower bulbs and installing benches and noticeboards and helping voluntary and community organisations provide local services and activities.
Councillor Sonja Crisp, Cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion, said:
“This is chance for residents to have their say on how money is spent in their local area. I’d urge everyone to find out what their local options are and get involved.”
