Reducing your carbon footprint in Fulford

A church team from from St Oswalds Church in Fulford is representing York in a North Yorkshire Green challenge.

St Oswald's Green Team is taking part in the York and North Yorkshire Green Neighbourhood Challenge and is competing with six other groups from neighbouring local authorities to reduce their carbon footprint.

As part of the challenge the St Oswald's Church Green Team is inviting local residents this weekend to learn more about what they can do to make the most of limited resources in an age of rising food, fuel and energy prices.

The Planet Fulford Green Fair will be held on Saturday 22nd October 2011 in St Oswald's Church Hall in Fulford from 12pm until 4pm.

There will be expert talks taking place at:

1pm - Confessions of an Eco Shopper by local author, Kate Lock

2pm - Stay Warm and Save Money by Denise Hall, coordinator of the York and North Yorkshire Green Neighbourhood Challenge

3 pm - Generate Your Own Energy by Sophie Smith, Yorkshire Energy Partnership

Admission is free and participants will be able to buy fair trade tea and coffee and home-made cakes in the Village Cafe. 

There will be activities for children and a free prize draw.
