York soldiers do their bit for charity

Twenty soldiers from 2nd signal regiment are to tackle the 40 mile Lyke Wake Walk.

The team are setting off from Osmotherly this morning - and hope to reach the finnish point within 24 hours.

All the money they raise will go to St Leonards Hospice, which is just one of the charities the regiment supports.


Many of the soldiers have had friends or relatives cared for by the St Leonard's Hospice and are keen to raise as much as possible to suport the charity.
