3rd biker seriously injured in Yorkshire

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in the Chop Gate area, near Stokesley.
It occurred just before 7.30pm on Wednesday 3 August 2011 on the B1257, Stokesley to Helmsley road, near to Laskill. It involved a blue BMW motorcycle and a mustard coloured lorry.
At the time of the collision the motorcycle was heading towards Helmsley and the HGV was travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man from Hull sustained serious facial injuries, although they are not believed to be life threatening. He was taken to York District Hospital by air ambulance where he remains in a stable condition.
The 53-year-old driver of the lorry was not injured.
The road was closed for approximately six hours following the collision.
Traffic Constable Tony Leonard, of North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group, said:
“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen either of the vehicles travelling on the B1257 prior to the crash.”
