Driver in A64 crash charged with 8 offences

Man charged with eight offences following serious collision on A64

This is an update following the serious collision on the A64 near Fulford Interchange, York, on Tuesday 19 July.

The driver of the Vauxhall Insignia, 25-year-old man from Liversedge in West Yorkshire has been charged with the following offences:

Burglary, Common assault, Dangerous driving, Driving while disqualified, Failing to stop when requested by police, Theft of a motor vehicle, Using a motor vehicle without insurance, Criminal damage (to a property in Liversedge).

He is due to appear at York Magistrates' Court today, 21 July 2011.

The driver of the Toyota Avensis, a man from York, remains in a stable condition in York District Hospital.
