Miss Anne McIntosh, MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey, has today pressed the Environment Minister Richard Benyon for action regarding the Pickering Pilot Project, during the course of the Westminster Hall debate at 11am this morning.

Miss McIntosh urged the Minister to use his discretion to revise the 1996 Guidance to the 1975 Reservoir Act which currently hinders the scheme, before the House of Commons rises in two weeks.

Environment Minister Richard Benyon gave a firm assurance that the guidance was being reviewed by the end of July and promised that he would look at all proposals brought forward.

Miss McIntosh said:

“I was delighted to secure the debate today and I shall continue to press the Minister to do all in his power to bring the Pickering Pilot Project to a successful conclusion.”
