Was Claudia's phone hacked?

Speculation that the missing York chef Claudia Lawrence's phone may have been hacked has been dismissed by North Yorkshire Police.

They've told Minster FM: "We have no reason to believe that Claudia's mobile phone was accessed in this way."

It follows calls today in the House of Commons for a public inquiry into the News of the World.

Ed Miliband's called for the then editor, Rebekah Brooks, to resign.

The Prime Minister's described the situation "absolutely disgusting".

Police are now investigating whether relatives of those killed in the 7/7 terror attacks were amongst those who had their voicemails listened to.

There's already an inquiry underway in to whether murdered Milly Dowler's messages were tapped in to, along with the parents of murdered Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells.
